Preysal Phoenix sealed the T&T Women’s Cricket Association Premiership 50-over League title for the first time with a crushing 107-run victory over Technocrats in the tenth and final round at the Munroe Road Recreation Ground, last Sunday.

Phoenix ended the campaign with a perfect record, winning all ten of its matches. Technocrats finished second with 24 points, while Moosai Sports came a distant third with 15 points.

KOLKATA: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee condoled the death of former Bengal Under-19 cricket captain Ankit Keshri, who died at a private city nursing home on Monday after sustaining a head injury in an on-field collision during a local game.

"Saddened, shocked with the news of young cricketer Ankit's death as a result of an on-field accident. My condolences and prayers. RIP," Banerjee posted on social networking site Twitter.
