Match Report: Karachi Whites beat Lahore Blues by three wickets

MULTAN: Karachi Whites beat Lahore Blues by three wickets in the phase two match of Cool and Cool Present Jazz National T20 Cup on Tuesday night.

Karachi Whites Mohammad Hasan made the match easy for Karachi by hitting an unbeaten 41 in 21 balls as his team reached 143 for seven in 19.4 overs. They were chasing Lahore’s 143 for eight.

Hasan timed nine boundaries in his stay at the crease while Zain Abbas 32 on board with the help of three fours that came in 24 balls. Danish Aziz contributed 23 balls 30 runs studded with 16 runs through boundaries. That included two sixes. Ahmed Bashir and Zafar Gohar shared two wickets for 18 and 22 runs.

Earlier, batting first Lahore Blues could not score enough runs to fight for but still they took the match to the last over and also bowled out seven of their rival batsmen. Asif Raza was the highest scorer from Lahore side. He developed an innings of 44 runs, having two fours and three sixes while facing 34 balls.

Another notable innings came from Raza Ali Dar, who scored 32 runs in 24 balls. He punctuated three fours and a six. Faraz Ahmed and Azam Hussain were the pick of bowlers as they took three and two wickets respectively for 22 and 38 runs. Later Hasan of Karachi was named the player of the match.
