Faysal Bank Super Eight T-20 Cup

24th June - 1st July, 2011 At Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad

Lahore June 17, 2011: Pakistan Cricket Board, in partnership with Faysal Bank Limited, is pleased to announce the holding of the Faysal Bank Super Eight T-20 Cup 2010- 2011 starting from 24th June 2011- 1st July 2011. The tournament will be held for the first time in Faisalabad. All matches are to take place at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad and will be aired live on GEO Super.

Eight teams divided into Two Groups will be participating in this Tournament

(Group A): Lahore Lions, Sialkot Stallions, Islamabad Leopards, Hyderabad Hawks
(Group B): Faisalabad Wolves, Rawalpindi Rams, Karachi Dolphins and the Multan Tigers.

The first and second semi- final will be held on 30th June, 2011, followed by the final on 1st July, 2011. The opening match will be played between Faisalabad Wolves and Multan Tigers. Faysal Bank will be awarding the winning team Rs 2.5 million as prize money and Rs. 1 million for the runners up.

Commenting on the vent Mr. Subhan Ahmad, COO PCB, said:
“The partnership between PCB and Faysal Bank will go a long way in improving the standard of domestic cricket in the country. PCB has a resolve to assure that people can watch the stars playing live in absence of international cricket in Pakistan. To spread out on this Faisalabad was chosen as the venue for this big event. Our partnership with Faysal Bank seeks to further strengthen the domestic game in line with our vision of providing opportunities at the grass root level".

Aarij Ali, Head Retail, Faysal Bank reiterated the banks commitment to cricket and said,
“Sponsoring domestic cricket is one way in which Faysal Bank wants to contribute back to society. We got an overwhelming response in the last Faysal Bank T-20 and are anticipating an even better response from Faisalabad”.

Two matches will be played every day starting at 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm respectively. The schedule of matches is attached:
