PCB Chairman mourns at Khanzada's passing away

LAHORE–August 16, 2015: Chairman PCB Shaharyar Mohammad Khan, Chairman Executive Committee Najam Sethi and Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmad have offered their heartfelt condolences on the most unfortunate demise of Punjab Home Minister Col. (Retd) Shuja Khanzada in a most condemnable terrorist suicide bombing on Sunday at his home town, Attock.

“Col. Shuja was a brave army officer, and a hands-on home minister who had only recently been such a great help to Pakistan Cricket Board in security-wise smoothly organizing the Zimbabwe series in a safe environment. We mourn his death”, said Chairman PCB Shaharyar M. Khan.

In a message to the late Khanzada’s family, Chairman PCB said: "I am deeply distressed at the manner of Khanzada’s death. And I share your grief at this enormous loss”, said the PCB Chairman.

“In his brief but meaningful association with us before, during and immediately after the Zimbabwe series he befriended everyone he came across at the PCB. His presence was indeed most reassuring throughout the first home rubber with a full member of the International Cricket Council since the attack on the Sri Lankan team in 2009. The news of his untimely death was indeed a shock for us. We grieve for him”, said PCB COO, Subhan Ahmad in a message to Khanzada’s family.

"The PCB's upper tier management and its entire staff pray to the Almighty to bestow Khanzada’s soul with eternal peace and grant the family and the dear ones the courage and strength to bear this irredeemable loss", said the PCB spokesman.
