PCB Chairman Shaharyar M. Khan presides over a meeting of the Board's Directors

LAHORE-August 20, 2014: “Each department of the PCB will be strengthened in line with the norms of professionalism, specialization and integrity. Merit-based selection of players at every level and continuity of the reform process will be ensured and serious efforts shall be made to revive international cricket in Pakistan.”
 
This was stated by Chairman PCB, Shaharyar M. Khan while presiding over a meeting at Gaddafi Stadium attended by Subhan Ahmad, Chief Operating Officer, Badar M. Khan, Chief Finance Officer, Amjad Hussain, Director Media Coordination & Implementation, Intikhab Alam, Director Cricket Operations (Domestic), Zakir Khan, Director Cricket Operations (International), Brig (R) Sajid Hameed, Director HR & Administration, Syed Badar Refaie, Director Marketing, Haroon Rashid , Director Game Development and Col. Mohammad Azam Khan, Acting Director Security & Vigilance.
 
While outlining a broad framework for PCB, Mr. Shaharyar Khan stressed the need to develop cricket at school level and expressed concern over lack of cricket fields in majority of schools across Pakistan. Chairman PCB said that he has decided to take up this matter with the government of Pakistan to make a policy decision to make it mandatory to have sports grounds in every school.
 
Chairman PCB urged Intikhab Alam, Director Cricket Operations (Domestic), to develop a plan to strengthen school cricket based on international models. “There is a dire need to impart coaching at youth level, especially for players between the ages of 14-18 years,” said Shaharyar Khan. He asked Mr. Alam to make arrangements accordingly.
 
On the issue of return of international cricket to Pakistan, Chairman PCB said: “PCB needs to make provisions to have ‘A’ teams and U-19 teams from Australia, New Zealand and other countries to visit Pakistan. We must also take necessary measures to have international teams visit Pakistan.”
 
Chairman PCB asked the senior management of PCB to ensure “zero tolerance against illegal betting and match-fixing as enshrined in the new constitution of PCB.”
