North-east man collapses and dies whilst playing in cricket match

A cricket captain collapsed and died during a cup match, despite the efforts of a rival teammate to save him.

Inverurie Cricket Club captain Kenneth MacLeod, who suffered from cardiomyopathy, took ill during a game against Crathie on Saturday.

ICC admits draws are fixed to have India play Pakistan in international tournaments

The ICC chief executive has admitted the draws for international tournaments are regularly fixed in order to have arch-rivals India and Pakistan in the same group. This revelation comes in the wake of the release of the 2017 Champions Trophy draws which again pitted the two countries against each other.

Planning promotion and relegation in Test cricket: ICC chief Dave Richardson

Plans are afoot to introduce promotion and relegation to revive and secure the future of Test cricket, says ICC Chief Executive David Richardson.

The ICC cricket committee, which is meeting at Lord’s this week, is looking at introducing two divisions into Test cricket as a way of reviving interest.
