Karachi, 13 February 2023: Peshawar Zalmi’s Babar Azam and Imad Wasim of Karachi Kings held their captains’ pre-match press conferences at the National Bank Cricket Arena on Monday. The second match of the HBL PSL 8 will get underway at 8pm.
2017 champions Zalmi lead 2020 winners Kings 12-5 on a head to head, including winning their last four encounters. In 2022, Zalmi defeated Kings by nine runs in the first round match and then made it two out of two by winning the second match by 55 runs. In 2021, Zalmi had won two out of three matches, including the Eliminator by five wickets.
Babar Azam will lead Zalmi for the first time on Tuesday. He is HBL PSL’s most successful batter after accumulating 2,413 runs in 68 matches, including 2,398 runs at a strike-rate of 122 in 66 matches for Kings. Imad, who has played all seasons for Kings, has scored 682 runs and taken 42 wickets in 68 matches to date.
