Karachi, 22 December 2025: Left-arm pace bowling all-rounder Jahandad Khan’s brisk half-century and two scalps helped Pakistan Television (PTV) outfox the unbeaten Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) by 84 runs in the first semi-final of the President’s Cup Grade-I 2025-26 here at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi on Monday night.
PTV will now face either of Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) or Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) on 25 December at the same venue, where the second semi-final is set to take place on 23 December.
Jahandad’s counter-attacking 63 off 47 balls after walking in at 159-5 put OGDCL bowlers under pressure as PTV posted 241 all out in the allotted 50 overs. Jahandad’s blitz comprised of six fours and four sixes.
Earlier, wicketkeeper-batter Taimur Khan (48, 65b, 3x4s, 2x6s) had put on 85 runs with Mohammad Taha (35, 38b, 5x4s) as the duo go together after PTV had lost two wickets on the score of 74 after being 30-2.
For OGDCL, Adil Amin and Muhammad Imran returned identical figures of three for 47 in 10 overs. Left-arm spinner Asif Afridi dismissed two batters for 38 runs in his nine overs.
In turn, OGDCL’s opening batter Maaz Sadaqat came out all guns blazing as he smashed three sixes and as many fours reaching 35 off 16 balls before Jahandad cut his stay at the crease short with scorecard reading 43-1 in 4.4 overs.
PTV then kept on striking relentlessly without letting OGDCL batters to form partnerships as they lost all 10 wickets for a mere 114 runs with only Asif Afridi (25 not out, 31b, 3x4s, 1x6) reaching the 25-run mark apart from Maaz.
OGDCL had won all their seven league stage games including a five-wicket win over PTV at the Oval Academy Ground on 10 December. PTV’s all five bowlers were among the wickets as Jahandad, Ali Usman, Faisal Akram, Amad Butt and Israr Hussain picked up two wickets each.
