Haseeb, Usman score centuries; 7-fer for Haseeb-ur-Rehman, five-fer for Ziaullah

Karachi, 11 August 2022: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19 Blues Haseeb Khan and Central Punjab U19 Whites Usman Nadeem scored centuries while Haseeb-ur-Rehman representing Sindh U19 Whites and SindhU19 Blues’ Ziaullah bagged seven and five wickets, respectively on day two of the round three matches of the National U19 Championship on Thursday.

Pool A fixtures:

At the Hanif Mohammad HPC Ground in Karachi, resuming their first innings at the overnight score of 92 for two, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19 Blues managed to score 308 for six in 83 overs. Haseeb Khan coming to bat at number four scored an unbeaten 105 off 174 balls, which included eight boundaries.

For Northern U19 Blues, Amir Hasan and Abidullah bagged two wickets apiece.

In return, Northern U19 Blues got off to a confident start and they were 90 f0r no loss in 24.1 overs when stumps were drawn. Opening pair consisting of Shamyl Hussain and Saad Masood returned undefeated on 44 and 43 runs, respectively.

At the TMC Ground, Sindh U19 Blues left-arm orthodox Ziaullah bagged five wickets for 47 to bowl out Balochistan U19 Blues for 173 in the 53rd over. He was supported by another left-arm orthodox Afnan Khan who took four wickets for 22 runs in nine overs.

Earlier, Balochistan U19 Blues resumed their first innings at the overnight score of 97 for four.

At stumps, Sindh U19 Blues were 96 for one in 23 overs.

At the KCCA Ground, Southern Punjab U19 Blues were dismissed for 196 in 78 over after resuming their first innings at the overnight score of 91 for two. Sharjeel Hassan top-scored with a 171-ball 60, hitting six fours and one six. Mohammad Danish scored 53 off 90 balls, which included seven boundaries.

For Central Punjab U19 Blues, right-arm off-spinner Arham Nawab took three wickets for 72. He was supported by Hamd Liaqat and Mohammad Tayab Arif – both bagging two wickets each.

At stumps, Central Punjab U19 Blues were 38 for two from 16 overs.

Pool B fixtures:

At the UBL Sports Complex, eight wickets in a day from Sindh U19 Whites Haseeb-ur-Rehman put his side in a commanding position over Balochistan U19 Whites. Resuming their first innings at the overnight score of 120 for three, Sindh U19 Whites declared their innings on 267 for eight in 61.1 overs.

Ghulam Ashraf coming to bat at number six missed out on scoring a century and was bowled by Jahangir Khan for 99. The right-handed batter innings included 11 fours and three sixes. For Balochistan U19 Whites, Mohsin Ali was pick of the bowlers with four for 102 runs. Hikmatullah and Jahangir bagged two wickets apiece.

In reply, Balochistan U19 Whites were bowled out for 109 in 42.3 overs. Off-spinner Haseeb-ur-Rehman took seven wickets for 43 in 18 overs. After being asked to follow-on, Balochistan U19 Whites were 27 for one in six overs when stumps were drawn. The only wicket to fell in the second innings also went to Haseeb-ur-Rehman who has far bagged eight wickets in the match.

At the Rashid Latif Cricket Academy Ground, Central Punjab U19 Whites resuming their first innings at the overnight score of 68 for three scored 281 for six in 83 overs against Southern Punjab U19 Whites. Usman Nadeem top-scored with a 233-ball 114. The right-handed batter innings included 11 fours and one six. Mohammad Ibtisam-ul-Rehman and Ali Dilshad scored half-centuries.

For Southern Punjab U19 Whites, Mohammad Ismail took two wickets for 54.

In return, Southern Punjab U19 Whites were 36 for one in 15.1 overs when stumps were drawn.

In the third fixture of the group, Northern U19 Whites were 167 for eight in 79 overs when stumps were drawn against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19 Whites. At the NBP Sports Complex, resuming their first innings at the overnight score of 53 for three, Mohammad Ammar top-scored with a 94-ball 44, striking seven fours.

For Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19 Whites, Ayaz Khan grabbed three wickets for 33 in 18 overs. Mohammad Irfan took two wickets.
