Haseebullah, Maaz hit centuries; Arafat, Asif shine with the ball

Lahore, 25 October 2021: The second day of the third round matches of the National U19 Championship (three-day) concluded today. Balochistan U19 Whites’ Haseebullah and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19 Blues’ Maaz Sadaqat scored centuries, while Southern Punjab U19 Whites’ Arafat Ahmed Minhas and Sindh U19 Blues’ Asif Ali grabbed five wickets each.

On the first day of the Pool A fixture between Balochistan U19 Whites and Central Punjab U19 at the Sports Stadium in Sargodha, Balochistan were bowled out for 294 in 80 overs. Haseebullah top-scored with 133, hitting 12 fours and two sixes. Duniya Khan scored 65 off 76, hitting three fours and five sixes.

For Central Punjab U19 Whites, Hunain Shah and Muhammad Awais picked three wickets each.

At stumps, Central Punjab were 26 for no loss.

In another Pool A fixture being staged at the Jinnah Stadium Gujranwala, Arafat Ahmed five for 28 helped Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19 Whites bowled out for 217 in 68th over. Abbas Ali top-scored with 74.

In response, Southern Punjab U19 Whites were bundled out for 138 in the 63rd over with Mohammad Ayaz and Khalid Shah taking four wickets apiece.

With 79-run first innings lead, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were 31 for two in nine fours when stumps were drawn.

In the third fixture of the Pool A being played at the Lahore Country Club Muridke, Sindh U19 Whites were bowled out for 241 in 67.2 overs against Northern U19 Whites. Habibullah top-scored with 66.

In reply, Northern U19 Whites were dismissed for 127 in the 52nd over with Abdul Rehman taking three wickets. At stumps, Sindh were one for one in their second innings with a lead of 115 runs.

In a Pool B fixture at the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium Rawalpindi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19 Blues declared their first innings on 342 for eight on the back of a superb hundred from Maaz Sadaqat. Maaz top-scored with 113.

In reply, Southern Punjab U19 Blues were 158 for seven in 45 overs when stumps were drawn. Mohammad Danish returned undefeated on 87.

In another Pool B fixture being played at the Shalimar Cricket Ground Islamabad, Balochistan U19 Blues were bowled out for 180 in 62.3 overs. Basit Ali top-scored with 51, while Awais Ali picked four wickets for 23.

At stumps, Central Punjab U19 Blues were 64 for one in 18 overs.

In third Pool B fixture being played at the National Cricket Ground Islamabad, Northern U19 Blues were dismissed for 166 in the 64th over against Sindh U19 Blues. Asif Ali with his left-arm fast picked five for 38.
