Karachi Dolphins defeated Faisalabad Wolves by six wickets to reach semi-final

FAISALABAD - May 16, 2015: Karachi Dolphins defeated Faisalabad Wolves by six wickets in the Cool & Cool Presents Haier Super8 T20 Cup 2015 here at the Iqbal Stadium on Saturday.

Wolves were first restricted to 144 for nine and then Dolphins swam to 147 runs for four wickets with 13 ball to spare, winning the match by six wickets. Shahzaib Hassan scored a half century that laid the base of win for Dolphins, which lost early wickets, one at 25 and second at 62. Shahzaib took the score to 90 before falling to Saeed Ajmal at his personal score of 59 off 34 balls, hitting two fours and five sixes. His partner Rameez Raja II scored 25 runs and took the score from 90 to 139 with the support of Mohammad Waqas 22.

Waqas in turn got along Anwar Ali to the target in 17.5 overs. They achieved the score which Wolves scored in 20 overs. Wolves after two quick setbacks, settled through 54 runs innings from Jahandad, who took 44 balls and hit five fours and two sixes. Pakistan captain Misbahul Haq, who has retired from international T20, could score 30 runs in his usual self, 36 balls. He was at the crease when two batsmen were gone for 20 runs and he and Jahandad developed the score till 76 for three. It was the time when Wolves lost their captain who could hit one four and two sixes. Asif Ali came up with 22 and Ali Shan 8 and within a span of seven runs, wolves lost their six wickets.

Mohammad Sami did the main damage taking three wickets, while Anwar Ali, Fawad Khan and Faraz Ahmed shared two wickets each for 47, 30 and 31 runs respectively.

In the semi-finals, Dolphins will take on Sialkot Stallions and Lahore Lions face Rawalpindi Rams. The final of the cup will be played on May 18 (Monday).
