Karachi, 14 December 2025: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) registered their fourth consecutive win as the fourth round of the President’s Cup Grade-I concluded with Ghani Glass, Sahir Associates and Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) bagging victories at the four venues in Karachi on Sunday.

The fifth round of the tournament will take place on Tuesday, 16 December with the National Bank Stadium and Naya Nazimabad Stadium fixtures being day-night affairs, while the games at the KCCA Stadium and UBL Sports Complex will be played in day.

Centurions Maaz Sadaqat and Imam-ul-Haq provided table toppers OGDCL the rampant start against Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) at the Oval Academy Ground with a 159-run opening stand in their 67-run win.

WAPDA’s decision to bowl first was challenged by Maaz and Imam as the duo ransacked runs at a brisk pace bringing up the 100-run stand in 14.1 overs. Maaz – who hit seven fours and 10 sixes in his 65-ball 110 – brought up his second List A century with a six off just 57 balls in the 20th over.

Imam fetched 108 off 111 balls with the help of seven fours and two sixes as he registered his 15th List A century.

No.4 batter Haroon Arshad contributed 37 off 31 balls hitting four fours, while Danish Aziz – who walked in at 300-6 – provided the late flourish with an unbeaten 42 off 32 balls comprising three fours and one six as OGDCL posted 380-8 in their 50 overs.

For WAPDA, Ahmed Safi Abdullah picked up three wickets, while Mohammad Wasim Jnr dismissed two batters.

In turn, WAPDA fell short by 67 runs despite challenging OGDCL at various stages of their innings. After WAPDA were 180-5 in 27.4 overs, Bismillah Khan (77, 73b, 8x4s) and Ahmed Safi (60, 68b, 3x4s, 3x6s) stitched a 119-run stand striking half-centuries but in vain.

Earlier, all of WAPDA’s top five batters got starts but couldn’t convert them into big knocks as opening batter Mohammad Naeem fell for a 30-ball 50 off eight fours and two sixes in a 64-run opening stand with Muhammad Akhlaq (23, 33b, 2x4s).

No.3 Mohammad Arif (25, 22b, 2x6s), No.4 Sharoon Siraj (24, 27b, 1x4, 1x6) and skipper Ayaz Tasawar’s (36, 40b, 3x4s) promising starts in a mammoth chase were cut short by OGDCL bowlers at regular intervals. Skipper Adil Amin led the way with figures of 10-0-42-4, while Haroon picked up two scalps.

Ghani Glass eked out a thrilling one-wicket win over Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) as they chased the 222-run target with nine balls to spare at the UBL Sports Complex.

No.10 Mohammad Rameez Jnr (6 not out, 12b, 1x4) sealed the victory with a four on the third ball of the penultimate overs after Ghani Glass had slipped from 186-5 in 41.5 overs. No.6 batter Tayyab Tahir top-scored with 49 off 67 balls after walking in at 117-4 in 26.1 overs.

Tayyab shared a crucial 67-run sixth-wicket stand with Zafar Gohar (30, 37b, 2x4s, 1x6) in 14.4 overs as the duo halted the imminent collapse and weakened SNGPL’s grip on the game who had got rid of set Ghani Glass batters Hussain Talat (36, 49b, 2x4s) and Shahbaz Javed (32, 48b, 3x4s) in 27th and 28th overs, respectively.

SNGPL struck back with four wickets in 32 balls but couldn’t defend their total copping the first loss in the tournament. Ather Mehmood picked up three for 47 in his 8.3 overs, while Aamir Jamal backed up his 52-ball 36 not out with figures of 8-1-30-2. Sajid Khan also dismissed two batters giving away 26 runs in his eight overs.

Earlier, SNGPL’s Azan Awais (52, 64b, 5x4s, 1x6) and Kamran Ghulam put on 62 runs for the second-wicket after Haseebullah fell for a golden duck. Saad Khan scored 44 off 37 balls hitting five fours and one six as SNGPL slipped from 105-2 to 162-8, when Aamir dug deep in no.10 batter Mohammad Irfan’s (26, 29b, 1x4, 1x6) to take their team to 221 all out in 46.2 overs.

Ghani Glass’ pacers Ubaid Shah and Shoaib Akhtar Jnr picked up three wickets each, while Rameez bagged two wickets.

At the Naya Nazimabad Stadium, Sahir Associates registered their second consecutive triumph chasing the 208-run target set by PTV with the help of Faham-ul-Haq’s maiden List A century.

Faham remained unbeaten for 100 off 122 balls hitting seven fours and one six as Sahir chased the target in 46.5 overs. He also shared 78 and 72-run stands with Asim Ali Nasir (45, 49b, 4x4s, 1x6) and Ahmed Khan (18, 44b), respectively.

The left-handed opening batter reached his century with a six when he was on 94 and Sahir Associates needed three to win. PTV’s Ali Usman delivered a miserly spell of 2-16 including two maidens in his 10 overs, while Faisal Akram too dismissed two batters.

Earlier, PTV slipped to 129-7 in 34.5 overs after they were invited to bat first. Wicketkeeper-batter Taimur Khan rescued his team with a half-century (73, 85b, 5x4s, 3x6s) taking them to 207 all out in 49.5 overs. Sahir Associates; Razaullah picked up three wickets, Mohammad Afzal and Hafiz Muhammad Suleman dismissed two batters each.

KRL beat State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) by a thumping nine-wicket margin as they chased the 163-run target in 33.4 overs with Shahzaib Khan (69 not out, 91b, 9x4s) and Iftikhar Ahmed (50 not out 47b, 3x4s, 2x6s) striking unbeaten half-centuries after Saad Baig fell for 43 off 64 comprising five fours.

Earlier, Arshad Iqbal’s four for 31 in 6.1 overs and Saqib Khan’s 2-31 in eight overs skittled SBP for 162 in 40.1 overs with only Muhammad Ghazi Ghori (36, 58b, 2x4s) crossing the 30-run mark.
