Oshada Fernando and Wanindu Hasaranga help Sri Lanka whitewash Pakistan

Lahore, 9 October 2019: A T20I half-century on debut by Oshada Fernando and Wanindu Hasaranga’s three for 21 led Sri Lanka to their third consecutive win as the visitors defeated Pakistan by 13 runs to sweep the three-match series 3-0 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday.  

Oshada returned undefeated on 78 off 48 balls with eight fours and three sixes, after Sri Lanka opted to bat first for the second time on trot. 

He added 76 runs for the fifth-wicket with Dasun Shanaka (12) as Sri Lanka scored 147 for seven in 20 overs, after electing to bat first. 

Mohammad Amir was the pick of the Pakistan bowlers with three for 27. 

The hosts fell 13 runs short of the target and managed to score only 134 for six in 20 overs. Haris Sohail top-scored with 52 which included four fours and a six, while Babar Azam scored a 32-ball 27 with a boundary. 

The pair added 76 runs for the second-wicket partnership. 

For Sri Lanka, Hasaranga finished with three for 21 in four overs. 

Hasaranga was later adjudged, player of the match and the series. He took eight wickets in the three matches.
