Pakistan's ICC Women's Cricket World Cup campaign concludes with washout against Sri Lanka

Colombo, 24 October 2025: Pakistan Women’s seven-match run in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 concluded with a washed-out game against Sri Lanka Women at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo on Friday evening.

Only 4.2 overs were possible after the game was reduced to a 34-over contest due to persistent rain earlier. Pakistan were asked to bat first and the opening duo of Omaima Sohail and Muneeba Ali had gathered 18 runs before the rain arrived again.

Pakistan’s three out of the last four games were hit by bad weather as they shared points with England, New Zealand and Sri Lanka in washouts, while their game against South Africa was decided on Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS).
