Patron’s Trophy Grade-II, Round Three, Day Two Summary

  • Fahad Usman, Akbar Badshah and Syed Saad Ali scored centuries for Higher Education Commission, Civil Aviation Authority and State Bank, respectively

Lahore, 23 April 2019: The Patron’s Trophy Grade-II tournament, Round Three, second day’s play was held today at eight venues across the country on Tuesday.

In a Pool ‘A’ match between Civil Aviation Authority and Haideri Traders at the UBL Sports Complex in Karachi, Haideri Traders resumed their innings at overnight score of 122 for six and were bowled out for 157 in 51.1 overs. For Civil Aviation, Mirza Ahsan took eight for 75.

In turn, Civil Aviation Authority declared their second innings on 280 for nine in 78 overs. For Civil Aviation Authority, Akbar Badshah scored an unbeaten 111 off 166 balls with 14 fours. For Haideri Traders, Jallat Khan took four for 110. In reply, Haideri Traders in their second innings were 42 for one at stumps. 

In another Pool ‘A’ match between Omer Associates and Pakistan Navy at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, Pakistan Navy, resumed their first innings on 64 for three and posted 270 for nine in 83 overs. For Pakistan Navy, Wasim Ahmed top-scored with an unbeaten 65 with five fours.

For Omer Associates, Muhammad Irfan was the pick of the bowler with figures of four for 102. In reply, Omer Associates in their second innings were 92 for four at stumps. 

On the second day of Pool ‘B’ match between Port Qasim and Ghani Glass at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, Port Qasim resumed their innings on 12 for one and were dismissed for 267 in 81.3 overs. Atif Ali Zaidi top-scored with 130-ball 77 with eight fours. For Ghani Glass, Ali Usman took five for 84. In reply, Ghani Glass in their second innings were 68 for two at stumps.

In a Pool ‘B’ match at the Rana Naveed Cricket Academy in Sheikhupura, Higher Education Commission defeated Candyland by an innings and 139 runs. Higher Education Commission resumed their first innings on 146 for one and scored 475 for six in 83 overs.

For Higher Education Commission, Fahad Usman top-scored with 160-ball 169 with 22 fours. In turn, Candyland were dismissed for 86 in 26.4 overs. For Higher Education Commission, Sajid Khan took five for 22.

State Bank of Pakistan beat Pakistan Air Force by an innings and 78 runs in a Pool ‘C’ match at the Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad. State Bank resumed their first innings on 161 for three and declared on 368 for seven in 65 overs. For State Bank, Syed Saad Ali top-scored with 128 with 23 fours.

In reply, Pakistan Air Force, in their second innings were bowled out for 174 in 50.2 overs. For State Bank, Muhammad Nawaz took four for 41.

In a Pool ‘C’ match between Pakistan International Airlines and Pakistan Army at the Army Cricket Ground in Rawalpindi, Pakistan International Airlines resumed their first innings on 105 for two and were dismissed for 356 in 77.2 overs. For Pakistan International Airlines, Shoaib Khan scored an 81 off 96 balls with 11 fours. For Pakistan Army, Musab Shehzad took four for 80.

In turn, at stumps, Pakistan Army in their second innings were 147 for five.

In Pool ‘D’ match between Pakistan Railways and K-Electric at the Railway Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan Railways resumed their first innings at overnight score of 83 for three and scored 309 for nine in 83 overs. For Pakistan Railways, Ahsan Bhatti top-scored with 78 with eight fours and four sixes.

For K-Electric, Asad Raza claimed four wickets. In reply, K-Electric in their second innings were 130 for four at stumps.

On the second day of another Pool ‘D’ match between Karachi Port Trust and Sabir’s Poultry at the LCCA Ground in Lahore, Karachi Port Trust resumed their second innings on 48 for three and were bowled out for 169 in 48 overs. For Sabir’s Poultry, Nisar Ahmed took four for 72. In turn, Sabir’s Poultry in their second innings were 182 for two in 50 overs at stumps.
