Patron's Trophy Grade-II, Round Two, Day Two Summary

Lahore, 19 April 2019: The Patron’s Trophy Grade II tournament second day’s play was held today at eight venues across the country.

In Pool ‘A’ match Nasir Owais claimed 11 wickets as Pakistan Navy beat Haideri Traders by 10 wickets at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on Friday. Pakistan Navy achieved the target of four runs in the first over. Haideri Traders resumed their innings at overnight score of 64 for three in 20 overs and were bowled out for 139 in 47.3 overs. For Pakistan Navy, off-spinner, Nasir Owais finished with six for 54 in the first innings as Pakistan Navy enforced the follow-on and Haideri Traders in the second innings were dismissed for 199 in 60 overs with Owais finishing with five for 94 in 22 overs. For Haideri Traders, Jallat Khan top-scored with 82 that came off 125 balls with six fours and two sixes.

In another Pool ‘A’ match between Civil Aviation Authority and Omer Associates at the State Bank Ground in Karachi. Omer Associates, at stumps were bowled out for 224 in 78.1 overs, after they resumed their innings at overnight score of 34 for two. Yasir Mushtaq in his 147-ball 65 hit five fours while Saad Nasim scored 46 off 91 balls with three fours. For Civil Aviation Authority, Shahid Nawaz took six for 55.

In a Pool ‘B’ match, Ghani Glass resumed their innings at overnight score of 175 for one in 44 overs and finished at 394 for six in 83 overs against Candyland at the Rana Naveed Academy in Sheikhupura. Zeeshan Ashraf top-scored with 95 that came off 172 balls with 11 fours while Yousaf Babar scored an 84 off 134 balls with six fours and a six. In reply, Candyland were 185 for nine in 45.3 overs at stumps. For Candyland, Ahmer Bin Nasir scored a 57-ball 52 with nine fours. For Ghani Glass, Waqas Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers with figures of four for 52.

A Pool ‘B’ match between Higher Education Commission and Port Qasim at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, Higher Education Commission, after being put into bat were bowled out for 266 in 79 overs. Asfand Mehran hit six boundaries in his 123-ball 70 while Muhammad Faiq scored a 52 off 81 balls with six fours and a six. For Port Qasim, Haris Kamal and Mohammad Talha took three wickets each, conceding 30 and 64 runs respectively.   

Similarly, on second day’s play in the Pool ‘C’ match between Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force at the Army Cricket Ground in Rawalpindi, Pakistan Army after being put into bat were 125 for five in 29 overs at stumps. For Pakistan Army, Qadir Khan contributed with a 58-ball 48 with eight fours and Muhammad Fahad scored 35 off 59 balls. Earlier, the first day’s play was washed out due to overnight rain.

In another Pool ‘C’ match between Pakistan International Airlines and State Bank at the Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad, Pakistan International Airlines, resumed their first innings on 71 for five on the second day scored 230 for the loss of seven wickets in 83 overs with Abdul Rehman scoring an unbeaten 77 off 174 balls with seven fours. For State Bank of Pakistan, Ilyas Khan took four wickets. In reply, State Bank of Pakistan were 99 for three at stumps.

In Pool ‘D’ match between Pakistan Railways and Sabir’s Poultry at the Railway Stadium in Lahore, Sabir’s Poultry, resumed their innings on 13 for one and were dismissed for 210 in 37.5 overs. For Sabir’s Poultry, Imran Dogar top-scored with 80-ball 90 with 18 fours and a six. In reply, at stumps, Pakistan Railways were dismissed for 103 in 30 overs with Hamza Nazar contributed with a 42-ball 37. For Sabir’s Poultry, Nisar Ahmed took six for 28 with match figures of 10 for 82.  

Second day’s play in Pool ‘D’ match between K-Electric and Karachi Port Trust at the LCCA Ground in Lahore, K. Electric scored 402 for eight in 83 overs after being put into bat. Umair Bin Yousaf top-scored with 130-ball 85 with six fours and a six. For Karachi Port Trust, Babar Rehman took four wickets. In reply, Karachi Port trust were six for no loss at stumps. The first day’s play was washed out due to overnight rain.
