Saad's twin tons, Hamza's fifer lead Karachi Blues to victory as sixth round concludes

Lahore, 8 November 2025: Mohammad Hamza’s 5-63 and Saad Baig’s two centuries fired Karachi Blues to win on the final day against Peshawar at Marghzar Cricket Ground, Islamabad in the sixth-round match of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2025-26.

Resuming from their overnight score of 92-4 in pursuit of the 510-run target, Peshawar were bundled out for 291 in 81.4 overs. Iftikhar Ahmed’s innings of 108 for Peshawar went in vain as pacer Hamza’s fifer was well supported by Muhammad Umar (2-42) and skipper Saud Shakeel, Rameez Aziz and Saqib Khan who all picked up one wicket apiece.

Saad Baig was awarded the player of the match for his 109 runs in the first innings and 116 in the second. 

At Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, continuing from their overnight score of 424-8, Abbottabad were bowled out for 442 in 135 overs. Skipper Asif Afridi starred with figures of 7-128 in 56 overs.

After enforcing the follow-on, FATA were able to pick up two more wickets as Abbottabad scored 165-2 at stumps on the final day. The match ended in a draw as Abbottabad’s opening batter Shahzaib Khan was named the player of the match for his 167 runs in the first innings and an unbeaten 100 in the second.

At Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, resuming their innings from the overnight score of 375-1 in 80 overs, Sialkot were lifted to 614-9 at stumps on day four, as Azan Awais (164, 253b, 19x4s, 1x6) replicated Muhammad Huraira’s 178-run effort from Day three. Mohsin Riaz (74, 92b, 4x4s) and Abdullah Shafique (71, 107b, 10x4s) made meaningful contributions.

Hasan Ali, coming in to bat at number seven, scored 52 off 39 balls including nine fours and one six. Skipper Usama Mir scored a 92-ball 45 including four fours.

Bahawalpur’s Saad Khan was named player of the match for his all-round performance of 155 runs with the bat and 5-85 with the ball.

The seventh round of the tournament will commence from Tuesday, 11 November.
