Second day of Inter-College Ramadan T20 Cup sees action across three cities

Lahore, 23 March 2024: The second day of the Inter-College Ramadan T20 Cup saw four matches being played among the Pool A teams in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. In Lahore, Punjab College registered a win against Superior College. In Karachi, Government College for Men came on top in their match against Government Delhi College while Froebel’s overcame IMCB F-7/3 in Islamabad.

Openers Obaid Shahid (83, 48b, 9x4s, 1x6) and Haider Shahjahan Afzal Baig (69, 43b, 11x4s) led Punjab College to victory against Superior College at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Punjab College ended their innings at 204-3 and later managed to bundle out Superior College for 46 runs in 14.5 overs. Punjab College bowlers Ahmed Arif and Mohammad Junaid claimed four and two wickets respectively.

In Karachi, Government College for Men won by eight wickets in their match against Governmentt Delhi College at the Eid Gah Ground, Nazimabad. Ghazi Ghouri (70 not out, 39b, 10x4s, 2x6s) singlehandedly ensured his side reaching the 100-run target. Earlier, Government College for Men were restricted at 99 as Mohammad Zaid Hassan claimed three wickets at the expense of 14 runs while Abdullah and Burhan Mehmood claimed two wickets each.

At the Miusam Cricket Ground in Islamabad, IMCB F-7/3 failed to achieve Froebel’s target of 152 despite a half century of 57 off 30 by Mohammad Sami. Froebel’s Khizar Malik who scored an impressive 91 of 69 in the first innings and claimed four wickets at the expense of 20 runs in the second innings, as IMCB F-7/3 was bowled out for 125 while Hamza Ali and Haider Shah claimed two wickets each. 

At the same venue, Mohammad Asif’s all-round efforts took IMCB Chak Shahzad to a five-wicket win against IMCB Degree College Sihala. In the first innings, Asif took a five-wicket haul to restrict the opposition to 62, which was chased in 8.2 overs as Mohammad Sharjeel (31. 24b, 5x4s) and Asif (14 not out, 13b, 3x4s) contributed crucial runs.
