Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) qualified for Friday’s final in the 2nd Inter-Departmental T20 Women’s Cricket Championship 2019 after winning their last league matches at the Diamond Ground on Wednesday.
In the first match of the day, ZTBL’s Almas Akram took three for 10 to dismiss the PCB XI for 80 in 19.5 overs. Sana Mir then scored less than run-a-ball 27 not out with four fours and Nida Dar chipped in with 27 as the bankers achieved victory in 11 overs.
In the second match, SBP rode on an unbroken 153-run second wicket partnership between Sidra Amin and Hafsa Khalid to collect 167 for one and then restricted Higher Education Commission (HEC) to 137 for four to win by 30 runs.
Sidra scored an entertaining 86 not out that came off 53 balls and included 14 boundaries, while Hafsa matched her partner shot by shot while scoring 66 off 57 balls with six fours and a six.
HEC’s run-chase was dominated by Sana Urooj, whose 64 not out came off 55 balls and included six fours and a six. Khadija Chishty contributed a 34-ball 28.
