Lahore, 1 January 2026: The HBL Pakistan Super League (HBL PSL) closed 2025 by completing a landmark decade, underlining its evolution into far more than a T20 tournament. Over ten seasons, the league has emerged as a global sporting brand and a powerful message of elite international cricket, Pakistan’s hospitality and the country’s organisational capability.

From its early years to its current stature, the HBL PSL has steadily grown closer to the hearts of fans while earning the respect of leading players from across the cricketing world. The desire of internationally renowned cricketers to be part of the league reflects its competitiveness, professionalism and unique identity, which both players and spectators now eagerly await each year.

The journey has not been without challenges. Over the past decade, the league has navigated difficult phases and extraordinary circumstances, yet the collective resolve of the Pakistan Cricket Board, franchise owners and stakeholders ensured continuity and progress. Stadiums have consistently remained vibrant, with fan enthusiasm serving as the league’s defining strength.

The 10th edition of the league, also known as HBL PSL X proved to be one of the most testing in its history. Despite an extraordinary regional situation in the first half of May, the PCB, backed by the confidence of foreign players, successfully staged the remaining matches in Pakistan. The league’s competitive quality, operational excellence and fan engagement remained unaffected, reaffirming trust in Pakistan as a safe and capable host.

As the HBL PSL completes its first decade, it now prepares to enter a new phase of growth. From the 11th edition onwards, two new teams will join the existing six franchises, expanding the league’s footprint and commercial potential. The auction of the two new teams is scheduled for Thursday, 8 January 2026 in Islamabad, with 10 bids shortlisted for the process.

The league’s growing international recognition was further highlighted in 2025 through successful roadshows at the Lord’s Cricket Ground and in New York, aimed at attracting global investors and partners.

With a decade behind it, the HBL PSL now looks ahead with confidence, ready to reach new destinations while continuing to deliver cricket of an excellent and distinctive standard.
