Lahore – April 29, 2019: Forty young women from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa completed a two-day U.S. government-funded cricket camp at the National Cricket Academy, participating in activities designed to build leadership skills and encourage healthy lifestyles.
“These students are now better prepared to face the challenges life brings and take on leadership roles in their families, their communities, and their country,” U.S. Consul General Colleen Crenwelge said, joining Pakistan Cricket Board representatives, members of the Peshawar Zalmi Foundation, and international cricketers at the camp. “Many of the young women from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were visiting Lahore for the first time. They made new friendships that I hope will last a lifetime.”
Some of Pakistan’s best cricket coaches helped participants polish their cricket skills. The students played several matches; completed team building, leadership, and communication workshops; and engaged with experts and athletes who discussed the role of sports in personal and professional development.
