Karachi, 3 February 2026: The second day of seventh and final round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I saw Sahir Associates’ Mohsin Khan strike a game-changing century against Pakistan Television (PTV) as action unfolded across four venues in Karachi on Tuesday.
Resuming their innings from overnight score of 60-1 at the Oval Academy Ground, Sahir Associates posted a strong total of 389 all out in 92.4 overs, highlighted by no.6 batter Mohsin, who scored 157 off 162 balls, hitting 22 fours and four sixes.
Asim Ali Nasir (53, 83b, 8x4s) and Mohammad Saleem (44, 72b, 7x4s) made notable contributions with the bat, while Arafat Minhas (2-11), Amad Butt (2-68), Mohammad Ilyas Khan (2-79), Faisal Akram (2-99) and Ali Usman (101-2) picked up two wickets apiece for PTV.
In reply, PTV closed the day with 19-3 on the board in eight overs, trailing by another 103 runs. Khan Zeb dismissed Waqar Hussain and Mohammad Suleman, while Razaullah pinned Shamyl Hussain leg-before, as Sahir Associates got themselves in a strong position.
At the UBL Sports Complex, OGDCL continued their innings from overnight score of 63-2, but were restricted to 192 all out in 70.4 overs. Coming in to bat at number nine at 133-7, Mushtaq Ahmed top-scored with a 62-ball 40 including two fours and three sixes.
For Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), pacer Mohammad Ali (18-2-44-4) and off-spinner Sajid Khan (26.4-4-90-4) shared eight wickets between themselves while Aamir Jamal and Shehzad Gul picked up one wicket apiece.
Trailing by 10 runs, SNGPL managed to score 102-6 in 36 overs at stumps on the second day. They had slipped to 84-6 from 41-1 before Muhammad Awais Zafar (9 not out, 14b, 1x4) and Aamir Jamal (7 not out, 17b, 1x4) saw them to close with a 92-run lead in hand.
Mohammad Amir Khan (12-3-32-3) and Asif Afridi (18-3-39-3) shared the six wickets to fall.
At the KCCA Stadium, Ghani Glass amassed 343-9 in 107.4 overs in the first innings at stumps after beginning the day on 45-2. Tayyab Tahir top-scored with 82 off 203 balls including three fours.
No. 7 batter Haseeb-ur-Rehman remains unbeaten on 76 with seven fours, while Mohsin Riaz chipped in with a 122-ball 71 including eight boundaries after walking in to bat 56-4. Skipper Noman Ali scored 34 off 70 balls hitting four fours.
For Khan Research Laboratories, Hamza Nazar picked up 3-94 in 25 overs while Mohammad Hamza bagged 2-82 in 28 overs.
Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) managed to score 282-5 at stumps on second day against State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) at the SBP Stadium. WAPDA’s Mohammad Ammar (77, 158b, 11x4s) and Sharoon Siraj (52, 127b, 4x4s, 1x6) helped their side’s cause, forming a 107-run alliance for the third wicket.
WAPDA were 112 runs behind SBP Bismillah Khan (37 not out, 71b, 4x4s, 1x6) and Khalid Usman 28 not out, 66b, 2x4s) on the crease.
For SBP, Kashif Bhatti bagged 2-64 in 31 overs while Niaz Khan (1-32), Mohammad Ismail (1-36) and Qasim Akram (1-65) picked up one wicket apiece.
