Karachi, 31 December 2025: Musa Khan bagged 6-58 and 2-32 to help defending champions Pakistan Television (PTV) begin their campaign in the President’s Trophy Grade-I 2025-26 with a 78-run triumph over State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) at the State Bank Stadium, Karachi early on Wednesday.
PTV find themselves second on the points table at the conclusion of the opening round besides Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), who accrued 30 points after an innings and 151-run win over Sahir Associates on Tuesday.
Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), PTV and Ghani Glass all are joint-second with 23 points each. WAPDA and Ghani Glass had also wrapped up their games on day three beating Khan Research Laboratories and Oil and Gas Development Company Limited, respectively.
The second of the seven rounds of the tournament will begin on Saturday, 3 January with the four first-class matches taking place at UBL Sports Complex, National Bank Stadium, State Bank Stadium and NBP Sports Complex in Karachi. All the games will be live-streamed on Tapmad (Pakistan) and PCB YouTube Channel (outside Pakistan).
Requiring another 92 runs to win with two wickets in hand, SBP could only face 21 balls on day four after they resumed from their overnight score of 148-8 and were dismissed for 161 all out in 35.4 overs.
Rameez Aziz (37, 45b, 7x4s) fell to Israr Hussain, while Musa bagged his eighth wicket of the match and sixth in the innings by dismissing Mohammad Ismail for a 10-ball duck. PTV had made a comeback in the game after falling flat for 99 in first innings and overcame a 54-run first innings deficit to set a 240-run target for SBP.
