Faisalabad, 29 November 2025: The eighth round of the National Women’s One-Day Tournament 2025-26 saw Conquerors and Stars reign supreme against Challengers and Strikers, respectively as the matches took place at the HPC Ground and Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on Saturday.
The penultimate round of the tournament will be played on Monday, 1 December at the same venues.
Conquerors registered a thumping 148-run win over Challengers at the HPC Ground as they scored the highest total 300-9 in the stipulated 50 overs.
Conquerors’ opening duo of Saira Jabeen and Gull Feroza put on a dominating 171-run stand 24.1 overs. Saira fell ten runs short of her century departing for 90 off 104 balls hitting 12 fours, while Gull struck 10 fours in her swift 67-ball 78.
Challengers’ Memoona Tippu Sultan removed both the openers with 198 runs on the board after 31 overs. Sidra Nawaz (31, 29b, 2x4s), Farzana Farooq (20, 24b, 3x4s), Iram Javed (17, 26b, 2x4s) and Ayesha Bilal (15, 27b) took their team to the 300-run mark.
Apart from Memoona, Sana Talib and Quratulain picked up two wickets each for Challengers.
In turn, skipper Fatima Sana provided her team a head start with new ball as she castled Sadaf Shamas and Fatima Shahid with just five runs on the board. Ayesha Zafar (65, 57b, 11x4s) and Huraina Sajjad (23, 38b, 3x4s) then put on a 75-run stand before the latter was run out.
Rameen Shamim (27, 28b, 4x4s) and Eyman Fatima (14, 8b, 3x4s) were the only other Challengers batters to enter double figures as they lost 8-72 succumbing to their fifth loss in the tournament.
At the Iqbal Stadium, Stars beat Strikers by seven wickets as they chased the 167-run target with 59 balls to spare. Sidra Amin – who is now leading the run scoring charts with 328 in seven outings, stitched a unbeaten 96-run stand with Syeda Aroob Shah as Stars bagged their fifth win of the tournament.
Player of the match Sidra’s 81 not out came off 116 balls hitting six fours and one six, while Aroob hit five fours and one six during her 47-ball 50. For Strikers, Rabia Rani, Areesha Noor and Humna Bilal picked up one wicket each.
Earlier, Noreen Yaqoob’s half-century (58, 105b, 7x4s) and opening batter Shawaal Zulfiqar’s 34 off 40 comprising six fours took Strikers to 166-9 in 50 overs. Stars’ Anosha Nasir, Fatima Zahra and Diana Baig dismissed two batters each.
