Ali Asfand (5-20) leads Central Punjab U19 Blues to five-wicket win over Balochistan U19 Blues

Lahore, 26 October 2021: Central Punjab U19 Blues defeated Balochistan U19 Blues by five wickets in a Pool B match of the third-round of the National U19 Championship at the Shalimar Cricket Ground in Islamabad. The star performer for Central Punjab U19 Blues was Ali Asfand who took five for 20 in the second innings and ended-up with match figures of seven for 39.

Central Punjab U19 Blues chased down the 62-run target for the loss of five wickets in the ninth over.

In a Pool A fixture being played at the Jinnah Stadium in Gujranwala, after a close contest Southern Punjab U19 Whites played out a drawn game against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19 Whites.

Chasing 220 to win the match, Southern Punjab U19 Whites were 204 for eight when stumps were drawn. Mohammad Shahzad top-scored with 51, while Mohammad Ammar contributed 49 runs.

In another Pool A fixture being staged at the Sports Stadium in Sargodha, Balochistan U19 Whites were leading by 31 runs with seven second innings wickets in hand against Central Punjab U19 Whites.

Central Punjab U19 Whites were dismissed for 264 in their first innings with Azan Awais and Usman Nadeem scoring half-centuries. For Balochistan U19 Whites, Mohammad Uzair took four wickets for 53.

In the third fixture of the Pool A being played at the Lahore Country Club Muridke, Sindh U19 Whites and Northern U19 played out a drawn game.

Northern in reply to Sindh U19 Whites first innings of 241 were bowled out for 127 in the 52nd over. Sindh declared their second innings for 177 for five in the 37th over with Northern requiring 292 runs to win the match.

At stumps, Northern U19 Whites were 131 for eight in 58 overs. Sindh’s Addel Meo took five wickets for 34 with his slow left-arm.

In a Pool B fixture at the National Cricket in Islamabad, Northern U19 Blues and Sindh U19 Blues played out a drawn game.

Sindh in reply to Northern U19 Blues 166, declared their first innings on 188 for nine in the 61st over. Aseer Mughal and Zain Ali Sajid from Northern picked four wickets apiece. Northern were 24 for one in 11 overs in their second innings when stumps were drawn.

In another Pool B fixture being played at the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19 Blues and Southern Punjab U19 Blues played out a drawn game.

Mohammad Danish top-scored for Southern Punjab U19 Blues in their first innings with 93 runs as they were dismissed for 206 in reply to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s 342.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19 Blues declared their second innings on 129 for five with Southern Punjab U19 Blues requiring 266 runs to win the match. In reply, Southern Punjab were 87 for five in 50 overs when stumps were drawn.
