Kent, 5 August 2025: Ali Zaryab scored an unbeaten century as Pakistan Shaheens played out a drawn three-day match against South Asian Cricket Academy & MCC Young Cricketers XI at the Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, Canterbury on Tuesday. This was Shaheens’ final match of their England tour, where they featured in three one-day matches and two three-day games.
Resuming their first innings at the overnight score of 183 for six in 60 overs, South Asian Cricket Academy & MCC Young Cricketers XI were bowled out for 278 in 80.2 overs. Feroze Khushi was the top scorer for the home side, returning unbeaten on 90.
For Pakistan Shaheens, Mubasir Khan bagged three wickets, while Mehran Mumtaz and Musa Khan picked up two wickets each.
In reply, with a first-innings lead of 107 runs, Pakistan Shaheens lost opening batter Azan Awais for five with seven runs on the board. Opener Shamyl Hussain was joined by Ali Zaryab and the pair stitched a 142-run partnership for the second wicket. Shamyl was the second batter to be dismissed after scoring 70 off 131 balls, hitting nine fours and a six.
Ali’s century came off 141 balls and included eight fours and a six. Later, Pakistan Shaheens declared their second innings on 196 for two in 50.5 overs as the match ended in a draw.
Earlier on the tour, Pakistan Shaheens won the three-match one-day series against Professional County Club Select XI 2-1, while their first three-day game against the same side ended in a draw.
