All-round Stars down Conquerors to win National Women's T20 Tournament

Karachi, 24 May 2025: Sidra Amin's Stars clinched the National Women's T20 Tournament title with a commanding 42-run victory over Fatima Sana's Conquerors as the latter were restricted to 93 all out in 19.4 overs while chasing a 136-run target at the National Bank Stadium on Saturday evening.

Dua Majid (29, 30b, 5x4s), Najiha Alvi (21, 20b) and Syeda Aroob Shah (14, 20b) were the only batters to enter double figures as Conquerors lost half of their side for 80 runs before losing the remaining five for a mere 13 runs.

Aroob and Najiha Alvi attempted to steady the innings with a 30-run fifth-wicket partnership, which was broken by Waheeda Akhtar.

Anosha, who shared player of the final award with Sana Urooj, impressed with figures of 4-0-14-3, while Waheeda claimed two wickets for 17 runs. Neelam Mushtaq, Fatima Zahra, Aleesa Mukhtiar and Tuba Hassan dismissed one batter each.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Stars got off to a brisk start as opening batters Sana Urooj and Huraina Sajjad put on 33 runs. Sana, who top-scored with a 37-ball 44, set the tone for a competitive total by striking seven fours in her outing.

Kaynat Hafeez (21, 35b, 1x6), Sidra Amin (18, 13b, 4x4s) and Sidra Nawaz (15, 11b, 1x4) were the other contributors with the bat for Stars. Sana and Kaynat also stitched a 47-run partnership for the third wicket before the former was cleaned up by Nashra Sundhu, Mahnoor Aftab and Nashra returned combined figures of 8-0-47-4.
