Danial Ali’s hat-trick, centuries from Usman Khan and Abdul Qadir highlight fourth round of National U19 Cup

Lahore, 28 September 2025: The fourth round of the National U19 Cup witnessed thrilling encounters across Group A and Group B, featuring standout batting and bowling performances in all matches.

Group A

At the Sheikhupura Cricket Stadium, Peshawar and Faisalabad match ended in a tie under the DLS method after play was stopped due to bad light, with both teams awarded one point each.

Batting first, Faisalabad were dismissed for 220 in 49.4 overs. Tawasal Abbas top-scored with 48, while Mohammad Awais (3-32) and Haroon Khan (3-52) shared six wickets between them.

In reply, Peshawar reached 204 for eight in 47 overs when bad light forced an early close. Ahmed Hussain struck a fluent 73, but the highlight of the innings came from Faisalabad’s Danial Ali, who claimed four for 24, including a hat-trick. Ihsanullah supported with three for 42.

At the Lahore Country Club Ground No.2 in Muridke, Sialkot defeated Karachi Blues by 64 runs. Sialkot were bowled out for 226 in 50 overs with Hayam Khan (49) and Ghulam Haider (38) contributing valuable runs.

Abdul Rauf excelled with the ball, taking four for 42. In reply, Karachi Blues were dismissed for 162 in 42.3 overs. Sahil Nisar scored 43 while Sialkot’s Zain ul Abdeen (4-26) and Abdul Basit (4-45) shared eight wickets to secure victory.

At Rana Naveed Cricket Academy in Sheikhupura, Lahore Blues overcame Multan by 36 runs. Lahore Blues posted 292 in 49.4 overs, built around Khizar Butt’s 75, Saad Safdar’s 69 and Jahangir Bilal’s 49. For Multan, Ilman Khan took four for 69 and Mohammad Sheraz bagged three for 28.

Multan replied with 256 in 49.5 overs, led by Sameer Ahmed Minhas’ fighting 108, but fell short as Ibtisam Azhar claimed three for 35.

In the third match of the group, Quetta registered a 28-run win over Abbottabad at Lahore Country Club Ground No.1 in Muridke. Quetta were dismissed for 192 in 47.4 overs, with key contributions from Fazal Rahman (57) and Mohammad Umar (56).

For Abbottabad, Umar Zaib took four for 27 and Abbas Amir finished with three for 22. In turn, Abbottabad reached 164 in 34.4 overs. Abdul Wahab (68) and Luqam Khan (49) fought hard, but Quetta’s Arbaz Khan (3-39) and Mohammad Umar (3-41) sealed the win.

Group B

Bahawalpur eased past Karachi Whites by seven wickets at Shama Cricket Ground in Peshawar. Karachi Whites made 198 in 48.3 overs with Sajjad Ahmad scoring 62. Bahawalpur achieved the target in 32.2 overs, courtesy Waleed Iqbal’s 69 and Sameer Akhtar’s unbeaten 63.

At Mirwais Cricket Ground in Peshawar, FATA secured a resounding 223-run win over Islamabad. Usman Khan struck a magnificent 151 to take FATA to 308 for seven in 50 overs. In reply, Islamabad were dismissed for 85 in 24.3 overs. Naveed Khan returned three for 21 with the ball.

DM Jamali overcame Hyderabad by two wickets in a thrilling finish at the Hayatabad Sports Complex in Peshawar.

Hyderabad were dismissed for 167 in 46.4 overs, with Ebad Ali (43) and Yahya Shah (42) leading the way. For DM Jamali, Farhanullah (4-32) and Muzamil Ali (3-39) bowled effectively. Ishrat ul Ebad then anchored the chase with a remarkable unbeaten 113, guiding his side to 169 for eight in 49.2 overs despite Basit Ali’s four for 35 and Mohammad Salman Khan’s three for 13.

At Ashfaq Cricket Ground in Charsadda, Rawalpindi outplayed AJK by 135 runs. Abdul Qadir’s commanding 121 lifted Rawalpindi to 233 in 37.4 overs. In turn, AJK were bowled out for 98 in 32.1 overs with Bilal Waheed (50) the only major contributor.

Rawalpindi’s bowlers Syed Ali Mehdi and Mohammad Hassan bagged two wickets apiece.
