India beat Pakistan by six wickets in Super-4 stage of Asia Cup

Dubai, 21 September 2025: India defeated Pakistan by six wickets in the 14th fixture of the ACC Men’s Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday evening. This was Pakistan’s first defeat in the Super 4 stage. They will take on Sri Lanka in the 15th fixture of the tournament in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, 23 September.

After being put in to bat, Pakistan scored 171 for five in their 20 overs. Opening batter Sahibzada Farhan top-scored with a 45-ball 58, hitting five fours and three sixes. He added 21 runs for the first wicket with Fakhar Zaman (15, 9b, 3x4s) and then shared a 72-run stand for the second wicket with Saim Ayub (21, 17b, 1x4, 1x6).

Pakistan’s total was boosted by a quick-fire unbeaten 20 off eight balls from Faheem Ashraf, who struck two sixes and a four. Captain Salman Ali Agha also remained not out, scoring 17 from 13 balls, hitting one six.

For India, Shivam Dube was the most successful bowler, taking two wickets for 33 runs.

In reply, India reached the target in 18.5 overs, losing four wickets. Openers Abhishek Sharma (74, 39b, 6x4s, 5x6s) and Shubman Gill (47, 28b, 8x4s) added 105 runs for the first wicket. Tilak Varma contributed an unbeaten 30 to see his side home.

For Pakistan, Haris Rauf picked up two wickets, while Abrar Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf claimed one apiece.
