Islamabad and Hyderabad secure wins in the first round of the super-four stage of the Hanif Mohammad Trophy

Lahore, 13 October 2023: At Multan Cricket Stadium, on the last day of first round of the super-four stage of the Hanif Mohammad Trophy, Islamabad chased the target of 74 runs in just 13.5 overs, effectively winning the game against Abbottabad by 10 wickets. At Sheikh Khalifa Sports Complex in Rahim Yar Khan, Hyderabad bowled out Quetta for 162 runs, thereby winning the game by 58 runs.

Islamabad v Abbottabad at Multan Cricket Stadium:

On the final day of play of the first round of the super-four stage of the Hanif Mohammad Trophy, at Multan Cricket Stadium, Islamabad chased down the set target of 74 runs in 13.5 overs without losing any wicket.

The Islamabad openers secured the win for their side without breaking a sweat; Ali Imran scored 30 runs from 31 balls including five boundaries and Hassan Nawaz produced 43 runs in 52 balls, hitting four boundaries and three maximums.

Consequently, Islamabad have kicked off the super-four stage with a massive win against Abbottabad by 10 wickets.

Quetta v Hyderabad at Sheikh Khalifa Sports Complex, Rahim Yar Khan:

At Sheikh Khalifa Sports Complex, Rahim Yar Khan, while chasing 220 in the final innings, Quetta resumed their batting after a shaky start the previous day. They had lost three wickets while only producing 38 runs in 19 overs. Hyderabad bowler Asad Malik was really effective for his side as his seven-wicket-haul ensured that Quetta could not get to the required target.

Bismillah Khan (52, 84b, 6x4s, 6x2s) and Jalat Khan (40, 75b, 5x4s) contributed with the bat, however, it went in vain as the side was dismissed for 162 runs in 59 overs, lagging behind Hyderabad by 58 runs.
