Lahore, 8 October 2025: The third day of the opening round of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2025-26 saw Lahore Whites’ Naseem Shah, Multan’s Aamir Yamin bag five-fors, while Bahawalpur’s Mohammad Ammar struck a century as action unfolded across five venues across four cities.
At the Marghzar Cricket Ground, Faisalabad finished the day three with 198-4 in 52 overs in reply to Karachi Blues’ 477 all out, 279 runs behind.
Skipper Muhammad Irfan Khan (78 not out, 118b, 11x4s, 2x6s) and opening batter Hasan Raza (73 not out, 124b, 9x4s) stitched an unbeaten 110-run stand for the fifth wicket after Faisalabad had slid to 32-3 and then 88-4.
Earlier, Karachi Blues added 131 runs to their overnight score of 346-5 in 81.3 overs Danish Aziz extended his 116 not out to 155 off 231 balls inclusive of 21 fours and four sixes.
Wicketkeeper-batter Muhammad Ghazi Ghori chipped in with a 120-ball 83 hitting 12 fours, while Mir Hamza struck two sixes and as many fours to gather 22 off 11. For Faisalabad, Faham-ul-Haq and Ahmed Safi Abdullah picked up three wickets each.
Abbottabad were 376 runs behind Bahawalpur – who had posted 399 all out in their first innings – with all 10 wickets intact when the stumps were drawn at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium.
Earlier, Bahawalpur’s Mohammad Ammar struck 105 off 144 balls with the help of 12 fours and two sixes, while no.8 batter Muhammad Imran contributed a brisk half-century (66, 59b, 6x4s, 4x6s) as they added 323 runs to their overnight score of 76-2.
For Abbottabad, Israr Hussain, Shahnawaz Dahani and Mohammad Adil picked up three wickets each.
Multan were 185 runs behind FATA at the Diamond Cricket Ground, Islamabad as they finished the day with 88-3 in 31 overs in reply to the former’s 273 all out in 92.4 overs.
Earlier, Multan’s Aamer Yamin bagged 5-48 in 18.4 overs to help his team restrict FATA to 273 after they resumed from overnight score of 71-2. Mohammad Sarwar Afridi (80, 120b, 12x4s, 1x6), Haseebullah (63, 163b, 9x4s) and Mohammad Wasim Khan (53, 135b, 6x4s, 1x6) contributed half-centuries to FATA’s total.
At Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, Hasan Nawaz-led Islamabad stretched their innings from overnight score of 91-1 to 256 all out in 76.4 overs as Naseem Shah (5-34) – his fifth first-class five-for - and Ubaid Shah (2-56) shared seven wickets among them.
Shamyl Hussain top-scored with 86 off 152 balls hitting 14 fours, while Musa Khan (35, 58b, 4x4s), Haris Rauf (34, 56b, 3x4s, 1x6) and Jawad Ali (27, 70b, 2x4s) contributed valuable runs in lower order after Islamabad had slipped to 128-6.
In turn, Lahore Whites were 152-3 in 33 overs at stumps, trailing by 104 runs, as Hussain Talat (32 not out, 61b, 2x4s, 2x6s) and Salman Ali Agha 28 not out, 31b, 3x4s) had stitched an unbeaten 47-run stand. Tayyab Tahir struck a 51-ball 43 hitting six fours.
Peshawar finished with 154-4 in 49 overs after opting to bat first against Sialkot in a late start to the day three. Waqar Ahmed struck a half-century (67, 93b, 11x4s), skipper Mohammad Rizwan was unbeaten on 21 off 51 balls with the help of two fours at stumps.
