National U19 Three-Day Tournament: Mubashir six-fer helps Northern stage comeback against Sindh

Lahore, 19 November 2020: Twenty wickets fell on the second day of the match between Sindh and Northern as Mubashir took a six-wicket haul to help his side stage a comeback in the fourth-round match at Ayub Park in Rawalpindi on Thursday.

Northern U19 v Sindh U19, Ayub Park Ground, Rawalpindi: 

Northern were bowled out for 167 in 45.3 overs in reply to Sindh’s 298. Hussain top-scored with 44 off 45 balls, which included two fours and three sixes. Mohammad Raza-ul-Mustafa contributed a 77-ball 38, hitting five fours. The duo knitted a 68 runs partnership for the sixth wicket.

For Sindh, Aaliyan Mehmood, Adeel Meo and Saim Ayub took three wickets apiece. 

After taking a 131 runs lead, Sindh were bowled out for 89 in 38 overs. Mubashir took six wickets for 37 in 17 overs and ended up with match figures of nine for 135 runs.

Chasing 221 to win, Northern were 2 for no loss when stumps were drawn. 

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19 v Southern Punjab U19, Shalimar Ground, Islamabad:

Resuming their innings on eight for no loss, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa managed to score 309 for three in 62 overs when stumps were drawn. Maaz Sadaqat top-scored with 85 off 127 balls, which included 15 fours and a six. Abbas Ali and Nasir Faraz will resume their innings tomorrow on 73 runs each. The duo contributed unbeaten 120 runs for the fourth wicket. 

Balochistan U19 v Central Punjab U19, KRL Stadium, Rawalpindi:

Balochistan resuming their innings on an overnight score of 160 for five were dismissed for 205 in 73.5 overs. Haseebullah top-scored with 94 off 224 balls. Aurangzaib was other notable contributor with a 46-ball 27, hitting four fours. 

For Central Punjab, Arham Nawab took six wickets for 74 in 33 overs.

In return, Central Punjab declared their first innings on 88 for eight in 27.1 overs. Mohammad Huraira top-scored with run-a-ball 32, striking four boundaries and a six. 

With 117 first innings lead, Balochistan were 85 for five in 30 overs when stumps were drawn.

Haseebullah who remained top-scorer in the first innings will resume his batting tomorrow on 33.
