Lahore, 9 October 2025: Peshawar’s Ahmed Hussain claimed a hat-trick to inspire his side to a thrilling eight-run win over Larkana U19 in the eighth round of Group A of the National U19 Cup on Thursday.
At the Rana Naveed Cricket Academy in Sheikhupura, Peshawar were bundled out for 124 in 35 overs, with Khalid Afridi contributing 25 runs. Larkana’s Zameer Hussain and Ihsan Ali took four wickets each. Chasing 125, Larkana fell short and were bundled out for 116 in 34 overs. Ahmed Hussain (4-6) and Mohammad Seyam (4-32) were the architects of Peshawar’s narrow victory.
In other Group A match, at the Sheikhupura Cricket Stadium, Faisalabad U19 chased down Karachi Blues U19’s 266-run target with four wickets in hand. Mohammad Saim led the charge with an unbeaten 146, while Ihsanullah contributed 55 not out that secured the win in 47.4 overs. Earlier, Karachi’s Mohammad Musa scored 130 and Mohammad Ahmar Riaz made 51. Ayan Saleem took four wickets for 53 runs for Faisalabad.
Lahore Blues U19 outplayed Quetta U19 by 73 runs at the Lahore Country Club in Muridke. Batting first, Lahore Blues were bowled out for 194 in 48.2 overs, with Saad Safdar (33) and Ali Hassan (31) contributing with the bat. Quetta’s bowlers Haroon Shah, Mehrajudin and Mohammad Umer took two wickets apiece.
In turn, Quetta were dismissed for 121 in 41.4 overs despite Haroon Shah’s fighting 35. Naqeebullah starred with the ball, returning figures of five for 16, while Ibtisam Azhar chipped in with four for 21.
At the Lahore Country Club Ground B in Muridke, Abbottabad U19 defeated Sialkot U19 by 48 runs. Abbottabad posted 172 in 36.5 overs, courtesy 50 runs from Nisar Alam. For Sialkot, Abdul Basit and Abdul Subhan claimed three wickets each.
In reply, Sialkot were bowled out for 124 in 35.1 overs, with Zain-ul-Abdeen top-scoring with 33. Abbottabad’s bowling duo Umar Zaib (4-21) and Arslan Bashir (4-29) helped his side to another win in the tournament.
In Group B, Rawalpindi U19 recorded a comprehensive 165-run win over FATA at the Mirwais Cricket Ground in Peshawar. Batting first, Rawalpindi posted 267 for 4 in 50 overs, led by an unbeaten 93 from Syed Ali Mehdi and 59 from Mohammad Arshad. In reply, FATA were bundled out for 102 in 31.5 overs, with Mohammad Abbas Afridi scoring 35. Mir Hamza took five wickets for 26.
At the Ashfaq Cricket Ground in Charsadda, Bahawalpur U19 defeated AJK U19 by 24 runs. Riyan Jibran (63) and Bayed Tabasum Raza (51) guided Bahawalpur to 223, before Mohammad Huzaifa’s three for 18 restricted AJK to 199 despite half-centuries from Hashim Khizer (65) and Zain Jamail (55).
At the Shama Cricket Ground in Peshawar, Lahore Whites U19 beat Hyderabad U19 by six wickets. Hyderabad were bowled out for 126 in 35.5 overs, with Ahmed Khan top-scoring with 47. Lahore Whites reached the target comfortably in 24 overs, led by a brisk 68 from Aalyan Salman.
At Hayatabad Sports Complex, Dera Murad Jamali U19 registered a seven-wicket win over Islamabad U19. Islamabad were dismissed for 140 in 42.5 overs, with Abdul Zar Ahmed making 40. DMJ achieved the target in 26.3 overs, courtesy contributions from Khalid Shah (35) and Gohar Rehman (32).
