Quaid-e-Azam Trophy three-day tournament, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Southern Punjab win their matches

Karachi, 22 November 2020: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa completed a six-wicket win over Balochistan on the third and final day of the sixth-round match of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy three-day tournament for Second XIs at the State Bank Stadium, Karachi on Sunday. In another match Southern Punjab beat Northern by 10 wickets, while the game between Sindh and Central Punjab ended in a draw

Northern vs Southern Punjab, KCCA Stadium, Karachi:

Resuming their second innings at the overnight score of 67 for two after being forced to follow-on Northern were bowled out for 192 in 92.1 overs. Jamal Anwer scored 38 while Taimur Sultan contributed 31 runs.

Left-arm-spinner Muhammad Irfan took six wickets in the second innings after his three-wicket haul in the first, Ali Usman who had taken four wickets in the first innings added four more in the second as Northern batsman caved in without a fight.

Set a 28-run target, Southern Punjab openers Waqar Hussain and Anas Mustafa completed the chase in 2.5 overs to ensure a ten-wicket win for their side.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa vs Balochistan, State Bank Stadium, Karachi:

Resuming their second innings at 99 for nine, Balochistan lost their last wicket for the addition of a single run.

Set a 191-run target, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reached the target for the loss of four wickets in 47.2 overs on the back of an unbeaten 100 off 147 balls (19 fours) from Sahibzada Farhan. Muhammad Mohsin scored 32 runs.

For Balochistan, Gohar Faiz, Najeebullah and Muhammad Junaid took a wicket apiece.

Sindh vs Central Punjab, TMC Ground, Karachi:

Resuming their second innings at the overnight score of 124 for two, Sindh were bowled out for 303 runs in 95 overs. Muhammad Taha top-scored with 75 runs while Jahanzaib Sultan (58) and Saad Khan (56) scored fifties.

Central Punjab were set a 129-run target, their batsmen went after the target and were 11 runs short when they ran out of time. Central Punjab finished their second innings at 118 for seven in 18 overs, Fahad Usman scored 32 runs. Hassan Khan took four wickets.
