Doha, 18 November 2025: Pakistan Shaheens made light work of United Arab Emirates in their last group fixture of the Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 bagging a comfortable nine-wicket victory with 88 balls to spare as they chased the 60-run target at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium, Doha on Tuesday afternoon.
Muhammad Irfan Khan-led Shaheens won three matches on the trot securing a semi-final berth on the back of Maaz Sadaqat’s three player of the match awards. The two semi-finals of the tournament will be played on Friday, 21 November.
After opting to bat first, UAE found themselves in trouble losing their opening batters within the first two overs. No.3 Sohaib Khan fell to a spectacular catch by skipper Irfan off Ahmed Daniyal to make it 15-3, which soon became 24-4 in seven overs.
Maaz then removed UAE’s top-scorer Syed Haider (20, 19b, 1x4, 1x6) in the 10th over as they lost six wickets for 17 runs from thereon. Sufyan Moqim returned figures of 4-0-12-3, while Maaz and Daniyal picked up two wickets each.
In turn, Shaheens raced to the target in 5.2 overs with Maaz striking four fours and three sixes to end up unbeaten on 37 off 15 balls taking his tally of runs in the tournament to 212 in three outings. Maaz and Muhammad Ghazi Ghori stitched an unbeaten 54-run stand to take Shaheens home.
