Rawalpindi, 23 October 2025: South Africa defeated Pakistan by eight wickets in the second Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium to level the two-match Test series 1-1. Pakistan had earlier won the first Test by 93 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Both sides will now feature in a three-match T20I series, with the first T20I scheduled at the same venue on 28 October.
Earlier, resuming their second innings at the overnight score of 94 for four, Babar Azam went on to score his 29th Test half-century. He was soon adjudged leg before wicket to Simon Harmer for 50 off 87 balls, which included seven fours. Mohammad Rizwan (18, 64b, 1x4) followed shortly after, as the hosts were reduced to 105 for six in 39.4 overs.
The tailenders once again failed to contribute any substantial runs as the hosts were dismissed for 138 in 49.3 overs.
For South Africa, Harmer took six wickets for 50 in 20 overs and finished with eight wickets in the match.
Chasing 68 to win, South Africa achieved the target in 12.3 overs, losing two wickets in the process. Captain Aiden Markram was the top scorer with 42 off 45 balls, which included eight boundaries. Left-handed batter Ryan Rickelton returned undefeated on 25 off 29 balls, hitting two fours and a six.
Noman Ali was the most successful bowler for Pakistan, taking both wickets to fall. He also finished the series with 14 wickets.
