Karachi, 15 September 2021: Challengers and Blasters recorded comprehensive eight-wicket victories over Strikers and Dynamites in the Pakistan Cup for Women’s One-Day Tournament at the National Stadium, Karachi and Oval Academy on Wednesday.

Left-arm-spinner Anoosha Nasir (player of the match) was the star performer for Challengers as they rolled over Strikers for 163 in 45.1 overs. Anoosha took five wickets for 37 runs in her 10 over spell, opener Ayesha Zafar top-scored with 38 off 42 balls (seven fours).

Jaweria Rauf contributed 27 runs, Yusra Amir scored 26.

Challengers chased down the target in 31.1 overs for the loss of two wickets. Captain Javeria Khan played a captain innings of 80 off as many balls with the help of 13 fours. Iram Javed scored an unbeaten 43 off 30 balls (five fours, one six). The two added 82 runs for the unbroken third-wicket partnership.

At the Oval Academy Ground, player of the match Aroob Shah and Nahida Khan anchored Blasters to an eight-wicket win over Dynamites.

Dynamites crumbled after Sidra Nawaz won the toss and put Muneeba Ali’s side into bat with leg-spinner Aroob being the destroyer-in-chief. With 33 and 21, opener Sadaf Shamas and Kaynat Hafeez were the notable run-getters as they added 48 runs for the second wicket.

Aroob removed both batters before accounting for Huraina Sajjad and Soha Fatima. The 17-year-old returned four for 25.

Teenage pacer Fatima Sana, who was named PCB Emerging Women Cricket of the Year 2020, cleaned up the tail and returned two for 21 from 7.2 overs, while Nida Dar’s off-spin sent Muneeba and Maham Tariq.

Nahida’s unbeaten 43 helped Blasters cross the line in 24.1 overs. The right-handed opener stitched partnerships worth 66 and 29 with opener Gul Feroza (29 off 40) and Omaima Sohail (17 off 29).
